Deadline to Apply: March 16, 2026 (11:59 PM PST)
The Pathways to Prosperity (P2P) Partnership is seeking a new Settlement Sector Co-Chair to co-lead the Partnership and help ensure it continues to effectively serve the needs of the sector. All interested parties are invited to apply by submitting a letter of interest and resume. The P2P Governance Committee will then interview select candidates and appoint the successful applicant.
About Pathways to Prosperity
Pathways to Prosperity (www.p2pcanada.ca) is a national alliance dedicated to providing an evidence base for newcomer settlement and integration, and the promotion of welcoming communities in Canada. Core funding is provided by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to conduct relevant projects and to hold knowledge-sharing events.
The Partnership is led by Co-Chairs representing the academic community and settlement sector, with the Advisory Council providing ongoing advice and strategic direction. Three standing committees ensure that issues important to P2P are given attention:
- Francophone immigration outside of Quebec;
- Immigration to small, medium, and remote communities;
- Student and junior scholar engagement in the Partnership.
Ad hoc committees are set up as needed, such as the annual conference and workshops planning committees, and project working groups.
Role, Time Commitment, and Term
The P2P Co-Chairs are responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Partnership and overseeing effective project completion and knowledge mobilization. The Co-Chairs will not personally serve on committees for other national research organizations (e.g., Canadian Metropolis, CERC in Migration and Integration).
With the Academic Co-Chair, the primary duties of the Settlement Sector Co-Chair include:
- Chairing the Advisory Council, Governance Committee, and some Working Groups
- Ensuring that meetings of the Advisory Council are held regularly, with at least six meetings a year
- Ensuring that all P2P activities are completed in an effective and timely manner
- Presiding at major events of the Partnership
- Promoting a culture of collaboration within the Partnership
- Maintaining the Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, and Confidentiality Policies as they apply to the Partnership and its operations
- Serving as a public spokesperson for the Pathways to Prosperity Partnership, including in relations with funders
- Ensuring regular communication with P2P partners, collaborators, and participants
- Recruiting and appointing new members for the Advisory Council, in consultation with the Governance Committee
- Recruiting and appointing new members for the Standing Committees, in consultation with the Standing Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs
Relevant expenses will be covered by the Partnership (e.g., travel to Annual National Conference). The expected time commitment for the Settlement Sector Co-Chair is approximately 5 hours per month.
The Settlement Sector Co-Chair will be appointed for an initial two-year term, with the possibility of renewal for two additional terms on the recommendation of the Governance Committee.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a leadership position in the settlement sector
