Measuring Welcoming Communities Workshop
Pathways to Prosperity held its first virtual workshop of 2026, focusing on Measuring Welcoming Communities. The workshop took place on Tuesday March 31 at 1:00–2:30 PM ET. It was for LIPs, RIF, municipalities, and other interested parties who would like to find out how welcoming their communities are to newcomers, how effective their efforts to promote a welcoming community have been, and where they should focus future activities to address key gaps.
In particular, the workshop provided practical guidance on how to use the P2P Measuring Welcoming Communities Toolkit for evaluation and future planning. It included presentations on the toolkit itself and how to use it, experiences of those who have used the toolkit, and guidance on data sources that can be used to assess the indicators provided for the characteristics of a welcoming community. The goal was not only to develop knowledgeable users who can apply the toolkit within their own organizations, but also to help build a cohort of individuals who can provide advice to others interested in using it.
